Quartiers de Demain

The consortium, led by the agency dd.a, has been selected to take part in the international competition Quartier de Demain for the site of the former Tarterêts heating plant in Corbeil-Essonnes. The competition aims to develop ten pilot projects in priority neighbourhoods, focusing on social and environmental transition, new ways of working, and celebrating local heritage. The heating plant is a striking example of twentieth-century architecture and is listed as a Historic Monument. The team’s challenge is to create a vibrant, multidisciplinary cultural facility on the site.
To achieve this, the design team brings together FREAKS in architecture, Le Troisième Pôle in programme management, Atelier Franck Boutté in environmental design, Atelier Iris Chervet in landscape, Kanju in exhibition design, BMF in economics, STUDIO DAP in acoustics, Bollinger+Grohmann in structural engineering, Choulet in technical engineering, and Lollier in civil engineering and utilities, with each partner contributing their expertise to create a bold and innovative project.
